hmm, is there going to be a download option after 12pm at some point?

And I wonder if G4 will be covering it also at that time?

Gonna try and catch the G4 coverage tonight. At least I assume it would be on tonight's E3 coverage.

Many cool things to be seen in the videos. The Ten Ton vid is hard to understand but one thing that came through pretty clearly was near the very end - by approx 7/20 there will be a significant increase of beta testers! :)

Wowee!!! Everyone make sure to check their bulk mail folders for beta invites as well and turn off auto-spam delete to be safe you don't miss your chance.

I really like the general art style of the game, including the open seas.

Also, you see how big that open and pirate pvp circle was around that one port? Conceivably one pvp zone could encompass numerous ports in the crowded middle map area.

The only thing I didn't like was the look of some of the avatar combat moves. Dunno if some of the sword strokes were a default attack or what but if looked a little off (I think it was the fencing school).

Also a tad disappointed no comments about the economy but not surprised given that its not a big draw to most people at this stage in development.

the sword attacks seemed off because of the angle of the camera to the screen or the ingame camera to the character(at least thats what i think, the PotBS devs go for perfection :) )

and ports in pvp don't only get thier pvp zone around other ports, some block shipping routes, like south of florida/north cuba, theres a lot that hasn't been said yet :D

maybe the pvp zone's size is determined by how much space there is between the "pvp" port and the next closest? No idea.

Also, one dev said that while he was playing the avatar combat he 1) wasn't paying full attention cause he was also answering questions so he didn't always hit the button for a move at the right time and 2) some animations of the moves right now aren't in the game so if he pressed the button for "sand-in-da-face" the avatar would have gone motionless and that wouldn't have impressed anyone. I read this off one of the discussion posts on the main forums.

PvP zones are all the same size and there can up to 12 of them at any one time - the devs have said that that can take up a good portion of the map. That outside ring is the pirate PvP zone, the inside circle is the PvP zone for everyone.
