EVE Online is a massively multiplayer game where tens of thousands work, compete, play and fight in a dark and dangerous sci-fi world. It's a beautiful place, and is about to become absolutely gorgeous.

This winter we will be releasing the Trinity expansion. This constitutes a massive change in the world of EVE: Not only is the expansion packed with new features, but it also includes a graphics update of gargantuan proportions. Every ship, station and stargate has been completely overhauled from start to finish, resulting in an amazing splendor of spacefaring sights. It really has to be seen to be believed, and once Trinity arrives and you log on to EVE, we're convinced that you will never look back.

On this page you can see what it's all about. We're listing the features of Trinity, showing you interview clips with some of the people responsible for its creation, and displaying some screenshots and wallpapers based on the incredible graphics Trinity will bring. We want you to get a feel and a passion for the game, so if you're not already playing, grab a free 14-day trial and immerse yourself in EVE Online. Come Trinity, you won't believe your eyes.

Check out the interviews on that page. The new graphics look great!

Anyone had an issue with this?

Quote:
"CCP's latest major patch to the EVE-Online client, Trinity, comes with an optional DX9-enhanced graphics patch that dramatically improves the visual quality of the in-game graphics through remade models, textures, and HDR. It also has an unfortunate bug: the incredibly stupid choice of boot.ini as a game configuration file, coupled with an errant extra backslash in the installer configuration. The result is that anyone who installs the enhanced graphics patch overwrites the windows XP c:\boot.ini file with the EVE client configuration file, bricking the machine on the next boot. Discussion in a couple of forums threads is becoming understandably heated."

All true...

The one instance approached 40k simultaneous users yesterday...that's pretty crazy.
