So i will probably have some free time over break and was thinking about giving Eve another try...I did way back in the day but haven't in a long time...

Any suggestions on getting started - race, ships, skills to train from our more experienced members?

as in, starting a new account? id say go for tech 2 frigates, and work your way up from there

for people already having an account, id say tech 2 of whatever you already can do

race:
caldari-long range/shield/ecm
gallente-drones/armor/blasters(short range)
minmatar-speed/cheap ships(?)/ammo allows you to vary dmg types
amar- armor, lots of armor/ no reload(lasers)/ capacitor needs attention

also note, you dont have to make a new char to try a diferent thing, mining, fighting, or even to get a other race ship, just get the books

(eve got a new high at 41k people online a while ago)

I played once several years ago and I tried to re access that account info but it didn't work so I'm guessing I will have to start over... I played minmatar of one bloodline or another I do recall.

Last time I just tinkered with different areas trying out mining, fighting npc's and a little production I worked my way up to freighters before I stopped playing

eve only got better, try to get 0.0 acces(without getting shot), ive spend my whole eve time(since day 10) in 0.0 space, no regrets, lots of action :)

if you want a nice ship to aim for, i heard the gallente heavy interdictor is pink, and has a hello kitty sticker at the back

don't really have time at the moment, but if you want an objective assessment of each individual race, based on my play experience, message me on msn, and i'll give you the lowdown.

DF - give me a shout in-game (Lanasa) if you need anything. Ravage can definitely give you the straight poop on what to play.

A large number of the player base is Caldari or Gallente. Personally, if I had it to do all over again I would've picked Amarr because I think their ships look really cool (i'm a minmatar).

also you should try and find your old char - if you had freighter skills that's 2 months of training right there...shouldn't waste it if you can remember anything about the account. CS may be able to help as well.
