Here is a recent response to a player's request for Society Warehouses (shared warehouses for a society's use). As I recall, the absense of such a warehouse was one thing that killed the enthusiasm for PotBS around here.

It's not so much the cost of implementing the feature that's held us back, it's the fact that we can fall into really bad game play if we design it incorrectly. But it is on one of the hot ticket features that we're looking at for the first patch, which we'll be talking more about in the days to come.

that was a problem but more at issue was the entire approach to crafting and the ridiculousness of their fanboy following as it related to the subject

oh and here's a hint from the same developer that we may actually have a system similar to what we were SUPPOSED to get from SWG... Player Created Missions.

[Another way we might solve the problem is to] Allow players to create missions for other players to move goods. Warehouses are interesting, but man, the ability to have people sign up for missions to move myself (and be tracked and rated) would be super cool.

Eve already does that.

It does, and I never personally found it all that cool. Much cooler in concept than in virtual reality.

Pretty much... noone wants to spend their play time moving something that you've payed in escrow to have the privilege to move, with a chance its going to take you through hostile space, and or have someone waiting to blow you up so they don't have to pay you for your trouble. (the contract maker gets notified when the contract has been picked up, so theres plenty of time to organize an ambush at some point in the most likely route, if you're really intent on spoiling someone's day)

those courrier contracts(eve) are so usefull, its easy money if you avoid the bad ones

and its easy to move your stuff for a small fee if you dont want to spend the time moving them

and against the ambushes, just accept early in the morning, and wait for sometime during the evening to actually move the stuff, lots of people would have given up on waiting in ambush by then

I like the idea of courier missions set by the players but I think there are ways to improve it.
