Blackbeard server... English FreeTrader.. level 10 as of last night, with a few lumber mills, a gravel pit, and a Carpentry shop.

Anyone else want to join me?

I'm pretty much of the same mind. The game just didn't do much for me. The sea combat was fun, but I got that much from Sid Meier's Pirates.

I also won't be playing. A poor beta killed the game or me.

Didn't play the Beta, so I can't say much about that, but from others I have talked to, Beta and Live are pretty different beasts.

I have a friend key for anyone interested, but its a big download.

Just sayin....

I will get some Screenshots put together this week, and I will give you a review next week... give me a week to put together a more complete experience of what is going on.

i'd like to see someone who played beta try it.. but where myself and others found fault wasn't in the individual parts of the game it was the whole game design and crafting philosophy that POTBS seemed to embrace... that and the quests were repetitive and crafting system was pretty lack-luster...and cooperation was hampered instead of fostered

I see it just the opposite.. with so much stuff going into all the products, I see it as almost requiring a team to make stuff of any size.

But, I am still learning the ropes, so who knows.

Correct, lots of stuff going on, but very very difficult to get materials/components between a team of people. That was my experience at least.

fast ship would help, but I think the reference is to offline trading...

did they fix or add the ability to trade goods between players when they are offline, or do you still need to meet face to face.

Last I heard they were going to add a guild warehouse but not sure if it made it in game by release

I don't think they have guild warehouses yet. But not completely sure on that.

Funny story... got annihilated for the first time last night. Was trying to sprint up to Port Royal for a FT quest I had. Tried to cut the corner of a PVP zone to remain in a favorable wind pattern... yeah, that was a bad idea...

My little level 11 self in my freebie noob boat got jumped by 5 level 35 French Privateers... tried to run, but that was no use. After a few minutes of useless manuevering, I just packed up the sails and made rude emotes at the other boats as they turned my little ship into match sticks...

No more trying to be sneaky in dangerous zones for me !!!

Depending on what they've done with taxes a winery could be very profitable also.

I was running 8 vineyards and 2 wineries in Beta and making fortune.

I was British, was buying my Oak barrels from the Spanish and my vineyards we're in Biloxi (I think).

Looking at the resource map unless its changed. Wine will always be in great demand since grapes are only available in a few ports and none of those close to the British starting spots.

Hey Mantis.

Can we get another update on this??

I'm seeing more and more very good reviews of this game.
