I created a new public and private forum for Rift.

Public = viewforum.php?f=91

Private = viewforum.php?f=93

I am rusty when it comes to groups and permissions. Let me know anything is wrong. Also let me know if I need add anyone to the "Rift Guild" group which gives access to the private forum.

FYI, Scomp is also using Gnarlwood as their unofficially Official server. I am hoping to be in-game in the next month or so. I loved BETA.

On the Server side, they started the early start with an outrageously large number of servers even for a regular Launch. Most of the sales that qualified people for early start occurred in the last 2 weeks. They are playing catch-up big time since they have already surpassed the number of servers they were hoping they would need by the 3 month mark. They have already added a handful of additional servers the past couple of days and are planning to have more ready very soon.

I think by any measure this is a major success for them. (what I've seen of the communication on their website they seem to be on top of getting status updates out)

It seems to be a hit, hopefully they can sustain that and add some missing features (Guild Bank) over time. In terms of server load Friday and saturday Gnarl was fine until about 7pm central, then there were some waits. Tonight at 4:30 I had a 10 minute wait.

Overall not to bad. We will see how launch goes.

I had a 2.5 hour wait friday night. Saturday was 30 mins or so. With more and more new servers coming I think the waits will drop.

All in, fairly smooth launch and a damn fun game.

They do seem to be staying on top of things with patches, and they have been pretty spot on (or even better) with server shutdown's and downtime predictions. Last night we got the hated "server will shutdown in 15 minutes, be back in 1/2 hour"... I did some laundry, came back after 20 minutes, and the server was back on-line!

I am having a lot of fun... more than enough to do. And I have had next to no issues (bugged quests, bad lag, etc).

Well, if we get a few more Avian folks in, then I think we should keep the guild as a permanent fixture in game, and probably start a recruiting drive. Don't know about the rest of you, but I want to start leveling the guild up, and we need to spend our guild points.

Cyrus set us up without even being asked so PM him to be added or do the following ->

To Join the correct Forums

User Control Panel -> User Groups -> RIFT Guild - Hit submit

Not sure what that will do, but it may ask for approval from a mod/admin and then you should be set?

Cryus - can you confirm if that requres approval etc and what that grants access to etc? Havn't worked on the back end of a phpbb board in a long time.

Groups are a great way to control access to the forums. Originally when Avian was started we did not have groups, but past phpBB upgrades have given us access to this great feature. When you follow DF's instructions your group request will be in queue for an admin to approve. I recommend you PM me also that way I can jump on your request ASAP.

Registered members of the Avian Forums have access to the public forum. As a member of the RIFT Guild you will have full access and permissions to both the private and public Rift Forum. Additionally I have created a RIFT Govt. group. This group is given full moderator permissions to both the public and private rift forums, and in the future could be given additional forms of their own if the guild grows and requires such features. It is the same type structure we implemented with SWTOR, which was modeled from WOW team lessons learned.

Let me know if you need any additional help,

Yea.... Whenever they feel like it. Probably good for the week is my guess. I sure there are some terms and conditions somewhere I dont recall seeing them. I have a 20% off coupon code I can send you if it does, letme know if/when you need it (Its a one time code - but I don't think it's tied to my acct as far as I am aware so you can use it).

Hi everyone. I'm d/l the free trial and it runs outs on Monday.

I'm Gnarly look for Zorrukk if your up late enough. As what else a ranger.

Not sure if I'll continue after the free trial as my comp is a major dinosaur being 3.5 years old.

If I can get 6-8 fps I'm doing good. I've done everything I can think of to increase that. Playing on Low video @ 800 x 600, no sound.

Anyhoo great to see the band getting back together.
