Pyro 41 - Warlock 13 - Chloro 12
http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1zIvR.eftIuhsu0o.xe.xdhz
Massive ranged DPS, healing, health -> mana, charges -> mana, snare, fear,...
Looks like a fun PvE build for me to play with.

I should be in game in 2 weeks.

I just specd my rogue to saboteur/bard/assassin. Big time burst ranged damage (sab), some support and heals (bard), and stealth and increased crit % (sin).

Total glass cannon which is ok in pve but pvp I need to be careful and lurk at the background of fights. Might change to riftstalker from sin to increase survivability.

Currently I am Pyro\Necro\Dominator... no points in Dominator yet, just added that soul for the Sheep spell (which has saved my bacon a lot of times).

I will post my points breakdown when I next login.

I was running marks/bard/ranger before my respec. I am wondering if you'd get more benefit from eagle eye vs enduring in the ranger tree. I prefer crit over a small bump in health.

I decided on the Health Bump since my pet kept dying just short of finishing off the baddy, so the health bump to him was actually helping me more than the bump to me. It worked too, I've been taking less damage and don't have to call the pet anywhere near as often. However I really like the improved crit as well. I have purchased a couple of extra Roles and I will be using those to tinker with the best build in practice vs. on paper.

I didn't notice before (posting at work on iPhone) but in the Marks soul, I am not a fan of Keen Eye. A mere 5m range increase for 5 skill points is not worth it imo. I think you are better off putting those points into Sharpshooter (increased hit%) or IncreasedFire Power (increased attack power for 10 secs off crits). I also see Repelling Shot more of a PvP skill but if you are having problems keeping mobs off you (say when pet dies), I can see it being useful.

I find it odd your pet was dying so often (based on your description). Maybe it was Bard heals that kept it alive all the time, but I would have thought the Ranger Rejuvinate would do the same thing. Anyhoo, just my 2 cents. Keep tinkering. I love how much customization there is to suit one's own playstyle.

The Keen Eye is there for the advantage it gives in Agro. The farther out you attack somebody the less likely one of their comrades will agro after you. If I didn't have a pet to keep them out there then this would be a waste of points, IMO. I will probably do Sharpshooter next, as I was only holding off until I had some other improvements to Crit in place.

I've been rethinking the Repelling shot. The main reason I use it is when I'm agro'd by a mob while my Pet is fighting a target farther out. The Repelling shot will push them out far enough for my Pet to acquire them, or at least buy me time until my pet is free of their current victim. It's use, however, is so limited, and to tell the truth I have been using less and less as my other abilities get more powerful.

My pet dying is happening because I always jump into a fight that I am basically outgunned in. I don't take the time to heal the pet as often as I should because I need the power for my attacks and combos. I can probably adjust that, but if I do I will most likely just start taking on tougher baddies.

I've got a lot of tinkering to do, for sure. I love this game though. It really does meet my style far better then WoW ever did.

Cool. Diff skills for different playstyles. As Marks I tended to kite mobs quite a bit using speed gains from the other Marks skills (Swift Shot?) so I never was within their range that often. I like being a mobile hunter.

I've been leveling pretty slow the last couple of days, just barely dinged 16 yesterday. But I decided to do a complete respect, and also utilize my second Role. Now that I realize I can get other souls this early I will probably do another respect on my second role to improve the Blademaster, or grab a third role.

My primary is now Marksman 11 / Ranger 10 / Blademaster 0
Secondary is Blademaster 16 / Ranger 5 / Marksman 0

Played a bunch on Friday. Sabateur can definitely dish out the damage in both pvp and pve. Loving that soul so far. Going to drop assassin and pick up riftstalker as 3rd soul to increase pvp survivability. I tend to get burst down as is.

I also hope a nerf is coming to warriors cause damn they hit like trucks and their plate armor is so tough to get through even with armor piercing skills equipped.
