For any hockey game fan, nay, ANY sports games fan in general, this is a must try.

The gameplay is top notch and you actually have to play like you would in real life, not just always looking for cheap one timers on the offense and just looking to headhunt (bodycheck) players on defense.

Huge customization options, right down to what stick flex and type of curve you want on your stick. And these actually affect gameply in terms of shot power, accuracy, etc. Not necessary to look at every custom option as the default settings will generally work well for most, but still awsome to be able to tweak.

Deep dynasty mode. Can even create your own team and subsitute out one of the crappy existing NHL teams if you want.

I highly encourage any sports gamers to try this sucker out. Will not be disappointed.

It's been maybe 3 years since I have tried a version of this series, though at my father's house we still have a Genesis with '94 and '95. My brother and I still play that from time to time.

Thanks for the review. Maybe I'll check it out if I can pry myself away from WOW.

Heh, I was actually thinking of wiping those miserable boring Wild off the map.

I actually dunno who my buds and I are gonna replace tonight. Think we'll likely create the 4 of us, then import a bunch of the international team guys (Switzerland, Japan, etc.) and make our squad that way. Kinda make it like a true expansion team as it may take us a few years to ramp up and be Cup contenders.

Especially since scoring in 08 is a lot tougher (no cheese one-timers). Makes for a more rewarding experience tho imo.
