Now I know you can not count on release dates from distributors.... but I do find it interesting that the 2 games seem to squaring off in the second half of October. If they are to release close to each other, How will that effect you?
Here is how it will effect me: The whole reason I even bothered to look up these dates was because I was wondering if I should reward SOE with my money when their new product is released. Based on their performance so far, I do not think SOE deserve more of my money until they fix the long standing problems in SWG. Not to mention the fact that SWG has turned into such an anti casual, solo affair. I can hardly find a group of friends to play with, everyone is going solo. And forget about doing anything quick and fun, anything that is fun requires buffs plus 2 or more hours of your time. Frankly I am not crazy with the direction of SWG; what they have done with Jedi has totally rewritten what this area in Star Wars was all about. SOE has used the idea of Jedi to keep people playing, now that Idea has gotten so big and so out of control, as a result SWG no longer looks nor feels like the game I was excited about 3 or 4 years ago.
I am pretty much a one game at a time kind of guy. So I am pretty positive that I will not be subscribing to SWG and any other MMO at the same time. With WoW looking like it may release so close to JtL, I may not buy JtL at all and give Blizzard a try. The way I look at it, Blizzard had not done me wrong yet, while SOE has disappointed me time and time again.
Now if JtL delights Avian and WoW does not, I will surly hop back to SWG. But if WoW and JtL are slated to release close to each other, I think my money is going to Blizzard before I waste it on SOE.
