Mark Hamill comments about Episodes 7, 8, and 9 really got everyone's attention. Mark told those in attendance what Lucas told him the third trilogy would be about. Also confirmed today officially, a Star Wars television show coming in the future. -- I don't know if I should be happy or scared..."

The was a news item a month or so back on TF.N about the people at LucasFilm having to sign NDAs on 7, 8 & 9.

Lucas always said he would have had enough of making Star Wars by the end of Ep3. But now that he is getting to that point, he may have changed his mind.

Lucas has been saying that he is getting old, and that each of his Star Wars movies take 3 or 4 years to make, therefore to do another trilogy would take another decade out of his life. I remember an interview where he said he wanted to try a few other projects before he ended his career, he wanted to be known for more than just Star Wars.

However now that he is reaching his self imposed end to Star Wars, he may be rethinking his future. With movie tech advancing and him wanting to be king of movie cutting edge, I would not be surprised if he tried to make the last trilogy all at once like LotR and Matrix 2 &3 were made.

I really think EpI knocked his brand down a level or two. I think EpII was better but not ESB material. If Lucas wanted to go out on top, EpIII would need to be amazing. To be honest I think there is too much material needing to be covered to satisfy the fans. I pray that EpIII will be all that we hope for, but I would not doubt that EpIII leaves us fans wanting more... and he can give us more if puts his mind to it and gives us that last trilogy he has sketched out in his head.

It is not like he can’t make money off us. We are hooked on Star Wars, and we can make him millions more. It just depends on how Lucas wants to end his career... or more like does Lucas think he can have a career beyond Star Wars.

Now this truly would be a feat if he pulls off another trilogy. Especially since the story line for what happened AFTER RotJ has already been written. At least we may get some of the original actors back. Maybe... have you guys seen Carrie Fisher lately?? ::shudders:: :?

The biggest obstacle Lucas would have is recasting Luke and Leia. Not to be mean to them, but they did get hit with the ugly stick in their old age. If the story time line was advanced enough, Harrison could pass for the old Han... but it would be a close call.

I seriously doubt Harrison Ford would ever do a Star Wars movie ever again...unless they paid him ALOT of money...hehe

I'd say if the story goes on about 20-25 years after ANH we could see Mark, Carrie and Harrison during the Yuzaang Vong encounter.

It's gonna have to be Harrison Ford as Han or it just won't be Han! Anyone but the originals in those roles and he can forget about most of the original fans. Well...at least me. :P

here here! UNLESS...

what he COULD do is go far enough down the timeline to where all the main character are REALLY over the hill and a new generation is beginning. That might be cool.
