I need to find a cheap and easy way to link up my laptop to another computer. It's the only way I am going to be able to get SWG installed again in any decent amount of time. I'll have to copy the CD's to another computer, then copy them over to my laptop.

Any advice?

I've never done it but can't you use the a cable modem cable to connect the two and then use the network wizard to create a network?

Well... I'm stuck with dialup, so that is not a very workable solution for me. But thank for the input. :D

Like Flyoc says, if you have a LAN card in your laptop use a crossover LAN cable between the two computers.

If you don't have that, things will be somewhat harder as you'll need either a parallell cable between the two (painfully slow) or a USB cable.

Read this for more info.

Hmm.. looks like that USB Direct Link cable is the way to go. I'll have to go check that out.

Thanks!

Seems like the USB connection will be a bit of a hassle too, more comprehensive guide here

So your computer has a USB port but no LAN port?

If you can borrow a big flash drive (1Gb) from someone, that might be pretty fast.
