Well.....

On May 4th, 2005 I, Alarax(aka: Ron Washburn II) proposed to my girlfriend of 5 years, Alatriel(aka: Jennifer Jackson).

AND SHE SAID YES!!!!!

It was our 5 year anniversary yesterday. I recreated our first date. We went outside of town to the place i first brought her. There is a little lake and a river about a hundred feet from the lake, with picnic tables along the side of the river. There are many, many trees and wildlife all over the place.

Then, I asked, she freaked out and now we are engaged! Here is a pic of the ring: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/ ... heRing.jpg

(ok here comes the geek part :P)
Later in the day we came home and i told her i had a little supprise. and i will show you with some screenies. :D

Thanks to Cetera, Liro and Flyoc for helping to get the funds and the motivation to do all of this. I'm glad i could share it with all of ya's.

OK as a married male for over 10+ years I will give you the same advice that my friends gave me after I popped the question to my wife... RUNNNNNN!!!!!! now!!!!!!!!! before its too late!!! as a husband though I would have to admit I can;t function without my wife and I wish you all the best! Oh and the second she tries to change you which ALL married women seem to do.. do what I did.. DON'T... if they can't handle who you are... they shouldn;t be handling you ;)

Awwwww....

It reminds me of when I proposed to my wife.. though without the virtuality, elves, or tux (though I would have loved that, too). Good for you! It's (almost always) great being married. I would do it over in a heartbeat... though at only 3 years married, I guess we're still almost newlyweds.

I am truly happy for you both.

I got remarried a little over a year ago and I couldn't be happier. So I am more of a newlywed then the yakster.

Unfortuantely I could not get the links to work for me I'll try them again later.

Congrats to you both!

Marriage is great but there's a good reason it's referred to as an institution. :P This July will mark 10 years for my wife and I and like those above, I'd do it again without hesitation. Joy multiplied and sadness divided and all that stuff. ;) Having a partner and friend always there for you no matter what comes up is an incredible strength to have on one's side.

Best of luck, Alarax and Alatriel!

BTW: what's that ring disenchant to?

Those pics are great, man. Congrats to you both. I'm so excited for you guys. I couldn't be happier for you two.

And thanks for everyone who helped me get this stuff together in-game so Alatriel wouldn't know. Thanks for the donated money, time, and the rose.

Hehe, thanks Aza but my question was an attempt at dark, gold-digger humor! :P

Never got that kind of humor...

So does that mean that I should not respond to your gold-digger humor question? :P

Congratumalations!

It sounds like you found yourself a nice gamin' girl as well...
(wish I could get my girl to play MMO's again, your so lucky, mine played for a couple months when SWG launched, and actually played from start to end on Diablo II, so there's hope for her)

May your days be merry and the nights be long! 8) and again Congrats!
