What is the deal with the WoW trading card game? The forums are saying you can get game related stuff... like codes or something.

World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Announced

We're pleased to announce that we've teamed up with Upper Deck Entertainment to bring World of Warcraft to trading card game players nationwide. Starting next Spring, players will be able to build their decks and attend events that let them challenge Onyxia, or raid Molten Core in an attempt to defeat Ragnaros with the hopes of getting powerful Epic cards. Visit entertainment.upperdeck.com/wow for more details on the card-based game.

I don’t see anything about in-game items or codes. I just see that Upper Deck is doing a WoW card game, and then the site wants me to register without giving me any information.

Anyone know what this is all about?

No details on game-related stuff yet, only rumors.

“Upper Deck is looking at having special silver foil cards in packs that once scratched off, like a lottery ticket, could reveal a special code. The various codes then can be used online to add special appearance alterations/changes, to online player characters. They are even going as far as too look at having resource pools to collect from every purchase, much like collecting bear pelts or spider legs in the online game, which can be redeemed for special alterations to player characters.”

So, Image Design by buying lots of Trading Cards?

Innovative ways of separating customers from their money.

The game doesn't even have to be any good for people to buy that stuff.

I probably won't think anything of this until of course someone gets an incredibly awesome peice of gear that makes me piss myself, then many dollars will be wasted

Incredibly awesome LOOKING. The things given away with the CCG will be cosmetic only.
