Opening ourselves up to other games does not need to mean we share only MMOs or even MP games...this particular single-player game is a hoot!

Post below with any of the fun things you've noticed in the game, your favorite avatar to use or strategies you've come up with in regards to room placement, traps, surveillance, etc.

Hilarious: When torturing prisoners, note workers do a little Michael Jackson dance complete with an audible "Oo-hoo" and that scary sideways hip thrust.

Favorite avatar: Maximillian all the way! I don't know if it's his lack of height or baldness or what, but he just seems the consumate evil genius. One thing I'm not nuts about is his voice acting...something seems just a little off, maybe the wrong accent. But all that may be because I primarily have Bond villains in mind.

Strategy:
  • Add a jog left or right in your long hallways. This will allow you to place a video camera for surveilling the length of the hallway instead of just one doorway off that hallway.
  • Get minions out into the world stealing ASAP! Money disappears quickly and for now I'm averse to using cheats :P
  • I think a long skinny room (three tiles wide) is ideal for a barracks. This allows you to place a large number of lockers in a fairly small amount of space, maximising your possible minion count.
  • Do whatever you can to avoid losing power! Build a reactor room early and protect it! Blackouts shut your entire operation down!

Questions: Anyone trained up a guard yet? I thought I could by torturing enemy agents but no-go.

Oh, heh, I guess I mentioned it in the Subject but not the body: Evil Genius, bad guy RTS recently released by Elixir Studios and Vivendi Universal.

I've been playing EG as well, and love it.

Rocklar, you have to find a "Guard" on the world map, and kidnap him and then interrogate him.
The interrogator will then turn into your first guard.

I got technicians, scientists and a Quantum physicist (so I can start research :) )
I found a Martial Artist, but I cant find the mercenary which I need first :(

Dude, I was reading some reviews of this game. Just the thing I think I can get into a little bit here and there. Thanks for the heads up Rock!

Man where you been Talon? We've been talking about this one for a while. :P Might want to download and check out the demo until you can buy the game.

<< Can find it here: http://www.howevilareyou.com/us/downloads.jsp or look at your fav demo/download site >>

Yeah, I've been REALLY out of touch with PC games for a while. Just haven't had the time. Only time I get to game is on the Xbox while I'm laying bed struggling with all my last bit of consciousness to stay awake. And then I regret it at 6AM the next morning. I'm gettin' old. I used to be able to game all night for 2 or 3 nights in a row and still make it to class the next morning during the day. Ah.. college days.

Ain't it, though? I love the attention to detail and all the little things.

Ok.. just got back from going home for "lunch." I downloaded and played about 45 mins worth of the demo. I could see myself getting VERY involved with this one, if only I could find a "backup" copy of it. Any ideas where I could find one? /looks pointedly at the ever-resourceful Rocklar.

Couple questions I had:

1) Is there any way to ever stop all the armed agents from even coming into your base? Seems like everytime I got done building a room, I'd check back and find 4 or 5 guys rumaging around my base, and nobody seems to mind at all. You'd think somebody would say, "hey, you don't belong here." or something like that.

2) What can you use your evil genius for exactly? When I played the demo, he just kinda sat there and let the guards do all the work. But I suppose that's what an evil genius does.

He's handy for encouraging the troops either by interacting with a build tag (that prioritizes that object for construction or purchase) or by randomly killing lackeys (increases loyalty). Also, once you have a hostage, he can taunt them, increasing his notoriety a little.
