PCGamer UK gave it a ludicrasly high score, 96% rings a bell, that order of magnitude anyway.

it looks nuts! I wonder if my PC could even handle those battles. The screens look real nice, the detail in the landscape and everything.

I havn't really gotten into the total war games, but the medieval ones keep pulling my attention something fierce.

 wow... this is awesome. I've been playing the first Medieval TW since the day it released. The replayability is incredible, I'd say in line with the Civ games. This one most likely will not disappoint.

I haven't followed the TW series much... I have been playing a lot of Civ 4 recently. What's the difference between TW and Civ? It looks like in TW you get to manage the battles? What does Civ offer that TW does not?

The only thing they have in common is that they are turn-based strat games. In TW, you can switch to real time and manage the battles, and generally increase your success rate.

The thing I do like about Civ, vs. TW, is the map is different every time you play, whereas, in MTW, you always are playing on a preset map of Europe. The fact that it is so replayable despite this fact, speaks volumes about the mechanics, in my opinion.

The Total War series has been a favourite of mine since Shogun. Midievil, and Rome were great too, i'm looking forward to this big time.

Gamespy Review

It got mixed reviews... I think I will just buy Rome: Total War since it sounds like Medieval 2 is not much of an upgrade and Rome will be a lot cheaper.[/url]
