What to do with all those gift cards you get?

Im thinking of picking up 2 PC games, im planning on having some extra playing time cause the girl is going to italy for 3 weeks without me in january...

I recieved Guild Wars Nightfall for christmas, and play mainly Guild Wars Prophacy/Nightfall, Madden NFL '06.

I was thinking either Guild Wars Faction, Madden NFL '07, Joint Task Force.

I have Madden 06 and it works well but 07 has some cool features, JTF is a lot of fun and I think im getting that definetly, Factions, well I have Nightfall and that will last me awhile guildwars wise...

Any suggestions?

Edit: maybe BF2142 but I dunno how long that game would last me

I got Galactic Civilizations 2 (startegy game ala Sid Meier Civilization) which is pretty good if you're into that stuff.

I also read on gamespy.com I think it was that Space Rangers 2, despite its stupid title) was in their top 10 PC games of 2006.

GalCiv2 is a great game and is more true to the Master of Orion series than MOO3 ever was. I just wish they'd add multiplayer capability to it already.

Unless you just HAVE to have all the GW's Chapters, I think you can skip Factions.

You miss out on two professions, some spells and some different armors. PvE wise IMHO it is the lesser of all Chapters thus far.

And unless you play it a lot and get very familiar with it, the Assassin in Factions sucks. Bad Assassins out number good Assassins BY FAR.

Well here I sit making my first Avian post from my brand spankin new laptop I got for Christmas. I now have the ability to start catching up on the games that surpassed my PC's ability at least a year and a half ago. First on my list: Rome Total War. Completely sweet game. Took me a bit to get familiar to the new layout. Medieval TW has been a favorite of mine for a long while, and I expected this one to fall in line with Shogun and Medieval, but it's gone leaps and bounds beyond either one. Now I see the reason behind releasing Medieval 2. If you like the turnbased stuff, I highly recommend the TW series. Can't get enough of it.

Also got Age of Sail 2 in the bargain bin, as well as a couple other has-beens. I'm cheap. What can I say. And now that my machine can run it again, back to Morrowind. :) I'm hopeless.

Congratz Talon, you have been virtually computer-less for far too long.

That Space Rangers 2 is supposed to be pretty damn good. A buddy has it and he loves the wide open gameplay. At some point I'm sure I'll get it, hope it works with my old joystick.

Age of Sail 2!!! What a fun game that was. Wonder if I still have it....

I am trying to find Space Rangers 2 but my usual stores do not carry it. Gonna have to try, eek, ebgames.

Here's to my hopefull success cause as I said, it is apparently an unknown gem of a PC game.
