tomorrow I am expecting a job offer from the company that I am currently a contractor for. Problem is, I have been a contractor for over 10 years and have no idea how to calculate for payroll taxes.

Is there a chart or calculator that someone knows of that can at least ballpark my paycheck after all state, federal and income taxes are taken out?

It really could be across the board, from 12%-30% or more, depending really on what you get taken out.

Personally, I have federal, state, umm, fica? Then, I have like 10% in 401k, something like 5% put into savings, umm, I believe health care is like 2%. In the end, I actually put about 60% of my paycheck in my pocket. It really sucks. Especially this year, I got a great bonus from work .. taxes on bonuses are like 40%, which really eats me up. I really don't like our tax system .. but, another topic :)

I agree with Nas from a "thumb in the air perspective", it is between 55%-60% that I actually see in my bank account.

:(

well I signed on the dotted line. For the first time in over 12 years I am a fulltime employee 'for the man'.

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen

Uncle Sam takes a 24% cut from me, and I still ended up having to pay 4k after we did our taxes.

My deductions for health, dental, vision are just for myself, I didn’t do a family plan. However my life insurance is both Danyale and myself. All totaled my deductions were 3%.

Here is a graphic of my actuals last year. Like Nas and dbakke, about 50-55% of my check makes it to my back account on any given month once 401k and savings kick in.
