Seems that all my USB devices have stopped working (system doesn't recognize the device whereas it knew them 2 day ago).

I've looked for updates, but I am current with my OS on all the patches and it doesn't seem like they exist for USB. I would have assumed that the driver update would go through my motherboard for this, but it seems to be beased more on OS?

I've unistalled them and got it to work once after a fresh reboot, but nothing since then. I've tried my zip drive, palm pilot and a digital camera. The only thing that seems out of place is that I appear to have 2 hubs under devices (might be for the front and back) and I've tried switching between the 2).

Any ideas?

How about removing those two?

As far as why this happened: In the past, do you go through the process of 'removing' a USB device by clicking on the USB icon in the systray and then selecting the device you want to unplug from a USB port?

Alwats do.

Unless my wife has been using my pc

Also,m I've removed all USB controllers and the like and to no avail. They go away, and automatically reinstall, but the problem persists.

I haven't done much troubleshooting on USB stuff so I don't have a lot of ideas. Did you pop the case and check the physical connections to the motherboard for dust, good connectivity, etc?
