This was almost 2 weeks ago, me and a bunch of Sniggs went out on a super secret mission... so secret in fact that they didn't even tell us what the heck we were doing until we got to our destination and warped to our first engagement point.
Turns out, the Coalition forces, (likely Dusk and Dawn (D2)) had coerced a long standing member of Black Avatar, who is in the Firmus Ixion Alliance (FIX), who are allied with Band of Brothers (BoB)... anyway, coerced that pilot into basically sabotaging 10 player owned stations held by Firmus Ixion in a system contested by them and the Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate (IAC). Sabotaging a station is aparently a simple matter, all guy did was Remove all the fuel from the stations, which caused them, their shields, and weapon platforms around them to all go offline... and basically from there it was easier than shooting fish in a barrel.
I snapped some pics of some of the more interesting sights of that day. I had never seen a dreadnaught up close before, but that day i saw all 4 races of them. was pretty cool. lots of pretty explosions and the like as well.
All in all, the whole operation was pretty borring... sitting there shooting at undefended stations. The first one we went after took well over an hour to take down... we're talking 14,000,000 hitpoints on just the shields alone. I think the armor had 6,000,000 hitpoints, but for some reason the description on them didn't mention anything about the Hull hitpoints, but i'd guess another 6,000,000 given how long it took to blow. After the first ones went down, they finally realized that it'd be far more efficient to having their entire force taking out a single POS at a time... they went down in 20 mins or so each after that.
The funny part was, that our 25 member Snigg gang was called in as "escort" and "protection" for the dreadnaughts and battleships, we didn't have much larger than a Cruiser ourselves cause thats not how we like to fight. Our just being there made this 250+ Goonfleet, D2, IAC mob that warped in to take out these 10 stations, feel so much better. If only they knew how little we could have done with all our lag. lol. But hey, its good to be a respected force in the galaxy.
