On a related note, anyone going to get TF2 (or the Orange Box)? Never do much multiplayer shooters (other than when I worked in an office  ), but the trailers alone make me almost want to play this.

I will be getting this, but likely on the 360. Tho that could change if a bunch of peeps here will be on PC.

And yeah, I LOVE the teaser trailers for each character. Amazing stuff.

Thanks for making the group page, Acritus. When I get home I'll log on and join.

I will definitely be getting at least TF2 and probably the Orange Box. I actually have HL2 but haven't even played it yet. Got for CS:S which I still play from time to time.

Yea, TF2 is something I've been waiting for a LONG time. I love what they've done with the graphics and the classes seem fantastic. They teasers are the best I've ever seen in a video game.

If the gameplay is anywhere near that good then I'll be playing a ton.

Yeah, this one is a no-brainer for me. I'll be getting it on the PC but likely not until I get my new PC - this five-year old box just wouldn't do it justice. :P

Now, just one question, "WHO TOUCHED SASHA?"

k Azz, once I can gift it (not sure when it will show up in Steam) I'll give it to you. You probably need to get Steam up and running though, just download it, shouldn't be too hard.

Uhh hold on. How much am I going to download in total?

Just as a notice we pay pr volume up here. That is I have to pay .42 DKr pr uploaded/downloaded Megabyte. Link, though only in Danish. Nothing on the english options.

So if we say 1 US$ is 5.5 DKr, which is close to the prises as I know. I have to pay 7 cents pr uploaded and downloaded MB.

In any case I might be better off getting my hands on a retail HL2

Sorry...

Just pre-ordered the Orange Box now myself. Never got Ep1 so I just have a Half-Life 2 to give away.

Looks fun, but doubt I can come up with a additional $45 this month to purchase the orange box unfortunately.

Ahh.. ditto, except for the Peggle part though I'm sure it's pretty cool.

Will give my 2 cents on TF2 beta asap.

Some of the best teaser trailers ever made imo.

It sounds like there will be a few Avians playing TF2 on computer so I may play there rather than the 360. Gotta wait til I get home later this week to fully decide tho.

OK! Played an hour maybe 2 early this morning and it looks pretty darn good!

Graphics are smooth as silk and it looks fantastic. As I mentioned above I like the way they went with the animations. It is fun and really works.

I can't really comment about all the classes yet. Some, like the pyro and engineer, I barely played at all. But there appears to be some good initial balance, and more importantly, awesome combined arms synergies.

If you don't have a scout out, the spies will eat you. If you don't have any medics, your force will die fast. If you don't have engineers putting up gun sentries you won't have enough people to cover all the areas. Every class seems to be important and needed. Obviously, some like soldiers and demo men will be the "dps" but every class brings some good stuff to the table.

I probably played the scout more than any other class. They are so fast that despite their low armor and health, they have excellent survivability and can really cause trouble for a static defense.

For one game, me (scout), an engineer, a medic and a demo man held back at least 6-8 enemy for a good 10+ minutes. We died rarely while getting many more kills. I know in that game I was getting 3 kills for every death. I think it was a really good example of what kind of fun game it is. The biggest damage dealer we had in that group was the engineer's sentry. The engineer kept it supplied and repaired, the medic kept the engineer alive, I drew off fire and found spies and the demo man blew people up that were trying to get me. Teamwork at its finest.

I'm not sure what is not in the game that will be in the live version. There were no grenades, and while I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be in live, I don't know for certain. All I can say is I'd be happy with what they have now.

I came across no crashes or anything that even remotely looks like a bug. There were plenty of servers up and I was playing with ping under 50 the whole time. It was seemless. Again, only played an hour or so but I'd recommended it to anyone. Would be really cool to get an Avian group running. A good team will be fun to run with.

They won't be in. There is even an item in the commentry about it.

Played a good bit this afternoon. Mostly as medic at first, but then dabbled with the others.
Could play all day. :)

It's my birthday and to celebrate I'm playing hooky from work. Been playing pretty much all day so far and intend on continuing that pattern! :P

Heavy weapons guy has definitely been resonating with me so far and Engineer is a close second.

I've had about five crashes but I believe the source of those to be my sorry old computer. Despite the age and antiquity of my comp, I'm impressed with the quality and fluidity of the graphics. I haven't taken the time to figure out how to turn on the FPS monitor, etc.

Happy Birthday! :)

And my jealous not to be playing myself. And yea, Obo, I see what you were talking about with the grenades and I have to say I like the idea behind the decision.

Here's a pic of some of the funny stuff they have added to the game.

I've played 26.4 hours of TF2 apparently, since it's been out. I thought it was like 8. I'm a Demoman named Mittens. I'll blow your socks off.

Well, if there's an Avian group forming I will grab this for the cpu once live.

I will also try and get into the Avian beta group if I can this week to check it out. Sounds very fun and those screens are awsome! Keep em coming.

It's very easy to get into Beta: buy the Orange Box.

My handle there is GrooWithAGun.

Hehe the problem right there is I would have to BUY a orange box :), honestly I would love to try it out but right now I am leaving for a business trip tomorrow and am taking my wife along to help her relax so any extra money I have this check is going to paying her way. Any idea on how long the "beta" will last?

Probably until 10/9 when the OJ Box hits store shelves.

Yep. I haven't noticed anything anywhere that would suggest beta ends before the official release.

Apperantly The Geneva Conventions rule from 1836 of Medics being protected doesn't exsist in computer games.

I joined up last night. Not sure what my steam username is. It's either cndonnan or Madson. I didn't mess around with the UI much, I just wanted to play portal before I went to bed.

Oi, talk about a hella install. It took me like 2 hours to install the 5 games.
