Seems like something is being done if this post is true.

Unfortunately yes. I was one of the unlucky ones.
I was banned after being issued 2 warnings and failing to explain my actions.
2 days after the dupe controversy, I was contacted in-game by a GM demanding that I explain to him how I had accumulated over 2 million of a rare resource (Ditanium Steel). I refused to respond to him (after all what could he do about it?), and he issued a warning that duping was a bannable offense. After this I decided that the risk just wasn't worth it. After all I had put in a good 4 weeks into my BH character.
I then tried to sell off my stock at some reasonably low prices (about 2.5 credits per resource). Another GM approached me again and demanded that I explain to him how I was able to obtain such a large amount of resources as a BH. I told him I was a commodoties trader and had several suppliers in hand. Needless to say, he didn't believe me and left me with another warning.
Finally the next day I logged into the game, I was immediately contacted by another GM... I suppose this guy was higher in the ranks because he seemed to speak with more authority than the other 2 I had met previously. He explained to me that they had been monitoring my actions for the last 3 days after detecting some large transactions and the large amount of resources in my possesion. He advised me that they had a strong case on me of using one of the duping bugs and if I would tell how I came to know of this bug, which other characters were aware of it, what sites or mailing lists I was a part of, that he would be leniant on my case. Well, full knowing that banning is a rare case, I decided I wouldn't tell him anything and just told him the same story about my character being a good resources trader.
He then basically outright said that I had been caught using an exploit with full knowledge of the implications, and that my account would be terminated as of immediately. The evidence against me was that I:
1. Accumulated an amount of resources in a manner exceeding the limits of the game.
2. I had logged out/in of the game over 2000 times in a 6 day period
3. Did not cooperate when issued a compliance notice.
We left it at that... and I stayed on for the rest of the night. After the server reboots I wasn't able to log into the game anymore. I was sent an email explaining all of the above that happened. By the way, I was also warned not to make any postings or announcements of this as they could pursue further action towards me. How I don't know.
Anyway, I don't know if any others out there have been as unlucky as me. Yes I knew the risks, but coming from UO and EQ.. I wasn't too worried about it. Guess I was wrong.
I'm still kinda irrate about the situation, so I'll wait a few days and see if the game is worth rebuying
