I got it. I dont like that there is no Campaign mode for Single player, But the game is fantastic. Very dense jungles makes the game challenging to spot N.V.A. One thing I thought was pretty cool was when the battle was in a city and over the loudspeaker a recording of a lady was saying stuff like "Go home GI, your government lies to you, they do not see you, they will bomb you tonight. They will drop napalm on you." I have not played as the VC yet so I dont know their weapons; here are some of the Allied weapons. M16 w/ scope or without, M60, L.A.W.,smoke canisters, grenades, grenade launcher plus more I cant think of right now. My favorite choice is the M60 with the L.A.W. And this time when you go up to gain a control point you get a little timer that tells you how long it will take to control it.
Helicopters are in the game which I tried to fly but failed terribly, the basic tank, jeeps, mobile infantry, and airplanes are still in. Good game, great graphics much better than 1942, and just a lot of fun. Again my only gripe is no Campaign mode.

If you liked BF 1942 you'll like Vietnam

Great, thanks! I've been waiting for this to come out before I got back into the BF action. I'll definatly pick this up and play some this weekend. I had a great time with BF 1942 before I started playing SWG.

lol guess that class M60 with the L.A.W. is a little unbalanced..who is gonna carry around an M60 Machine gun and a Law on his back?

in anycase I plan on getting it sometime soon..

For those who want's to try the helicopter but can't afford BF:V try to find the free beta version of the conflict desert mod on the net. Got mine by a disc so I dunno where to find it.
I am an ace with the choppers. No one can beat me up here local.

I love it! Great game! I was gonna stock my vendor on SWG last night but was having much too much fun in BF to do that

My only problem right now -- I have a ATI 9800 pro .. and I have all kinds of issues with it .. know issues that others have. I had to turn some settings way down adn some others off just to get it to run correctly. Other than that .. fun game!

Sounds like old drivers may be conflicting with new. Did you remove the old drivers before installing the new/upgrading?

Naa, that's not it Rocklar. I've read on many, many forums where 99% of the ATI card users with a 9600 or above card are having the same type of issues. I did un-install, set card to vga, rebooted .. then installed new drivers. All that works fine. It's just the "in game" stuff .. jitters, stutters, "warping" (thought that was only SWG huh?). However, with some tweaks and such I was able to make it very playable .. hence the hours I've already spent playing !

Yeah....I must buy this game soon. I'm a huge fan of all the BF1942 series of games.

Getting the game tonight, will let you know what I think

Cool beans.

Got the game, and I am having some recurring graphical glitches, was using the newest drivers, then switched to an older set that came with the game. GeForce 4 4400 Ti. Any thoughts?

Other than that, DAMN THIS GAME IS ADDICTIVE!!!!!
