I'm trying to make a little accounting excel spreadsheet and I want to put in some formulas that will involve taking numbers from other sheets on the same file. Does anyone know what to put in the formula for that?

other sheets or other books? sheet being in the same Excel file..books being a seperate excel file..

Seperate file linkage
If they are located in the same folder

=[ExcelFilename.xls]Sheetname!$E$15
E15 being the cell of course...

Linking a sheet to another sheet in same File
='Sheetname'!E23
E23 being the cell...

Got what I needed, thanks!

I was looking for linking to a sheet, but linking to another file is nice to know as well.

See, I tried that, but it wouldnt work. It would record the cell number I clicked on, but for the same sheet. :? Go figure. Oh well, I got what I needed so no sweat off my gullet.

thats because u clicked back to ur old sheet and did not hit enter on the sheet u wanted...

Entry bar type =
go to page u want select cell hit enter or enter a new command / * + - w/e..if u just hit enter u will be returned to the cell u typed = in except it will be ='Sheetname'!E23
