Kid, you have no idea what punk rocker style is if you think Avril even comes close. I must be old, as you probably weren't even born. :p

Do you guys remember the run in we had with the Consortium?

Now that I think back about it, that whole episode was a fun time.

Talon, I think you are talking about the United Empire Imps of SW naboo....

The Consortium was a crafting PA that made a fake Avian webpage to advertise how they would be better than us. This was the real fun a few years before the game came out.

Back when we got free holos from the Devs I did a little cross-server trade and the guy i was trading with turned out to be from TCON. He said they had a very successful city on LOk (over 100 people) and Spiglord was still around, but just in an adviory capacity.

That whole run in we had with them sure was interesting.

The odd thing is that the UE confilct was one of the most Star Wars feeling things in the game. Too bad it did not go our way, but you have to admit that the Imperial agression was alive and real in that conflict.

All in all, I blame the devs for implimenting player cities so poorly. We had a very nice spot picked out there.

I agree with Cyrus on the UE thing. Too bad the devs messed up the thing for us with their bugs.

I don't know. Maybe it's just me. Why don't we try to find another good spot and try to take it away if it is already taken. Just for fun.

Nah, just kidding.

I can remember when I looked forward to playing instead of dreading it, does that count?

I remember conversations with Avian's first architect at 4am in the morning on day 2 before I was even a member.

I remember feeling that pang of remorse that I had given all my money away right after they announced the Space Expansion. It went away.

I also remember some really great times with a lot of great people.

Hi all.

I don't mean to knock a game so many of you obviously love. It's more about jealousy I don't feel the same way.

A lot of people had the right idea about the U.E. incident. They felt it added flavor. I on the other hand was really bitter about that. I felt we were penalized for bad game design and on a level playing field we would have succeeded. The comments by people who saw our arch's leaving on mounts and hadn't planned on their own was priceless. They took off running, KNOWING they were beaten. Then they finish before us!? That was a HUGE disappointment to me. People like that bragging on the boards was insufferable.

The conflict afterward was never what bothered me. But after city day the game lost my heart and never reclaimed it. I am happy for the people who still have fun.

Ok here's a real, sort of remember when moment. When I got chosen to be DD of S-1 I read through the posts of comments made about me when I applied. There was a comment to this effect. "The guy makes dangerous runs to scout out sites for harvesters, does the most boring jobs and I trust him enough to have him deed our wind generators. Let him in already." I was quite proud to be well thought of by such a great group that actually got shit done. But then my best moments generally had more to do with the company I kept than the game itself.

Okay, it was also fun to talk in Shyriwook before EVERYONE learned it. ;)

Sniff, sniff, now I am getting all sentimental and stuff...

You know, the city day was the only time I ever hung out on IRC for a longer amount of time. And at work. It was so exciting! I was also immensely dissapointed. It would have been better if we had been beaten fair and square, but the way we lost the race really sucked.

It wasn't enough for me to quit quite then, but I was considering it. Then I quit a couple of monts later, for other reasons - the game took up too much of my time.

i remember city day. so many Avians worked so hard and with so much effort and then just to see a bunch of immature idiot baffoons ruin it for all of us. i hated to stomach that dissapointment we all felt. i felt like fist fighting. i start to fume just thinking about it again and its been so long ago lol

Glad I wasn't there for that. One of my greatest memories though, is the huge gathering, multiple camps full of people, when we were placing the first PA Hall near Keren, Naboo. That was great. :)
