So you think I should use cautious or balanced in the next race? My lowest driver stat should be above 50% by then.

Also I will transfer this over from the other forum.

Quote:
BTW, how do test settings? I am training when I am making incremental changes to my settings. I tend to see fairly large changes so I suppose that is the way. If I am right the Engine setting is 13 at England. Started at 16 for baseline and then went to 17 but was about .18 slower. Moved down to 15 then 14 then 13 all about .18 faster each time. Went to 12 and was .1 slower ran it again and was only .03 slower then at 13. So 13 is it?

You're in.

Settings should be finalized today. While we will never get in the money with 8 racers on our team of 50 available slots, we could make a big move this week.

The other new team is my alt, Fred Banks. He is a sunnyboy, and what a blast it was taking my engine from 700 to 805 in my first tuning session.

LOL.. yeah, but wait until you get to about 70% on your stats. You'll LOVE how long it takes to bump him 1%. :P

Z's driver is a sunnyboy. 'course he's leadin' the pack in points so I guess I should reconsider that. :)

As far as your question about how to test the right settings, you've got it right. It's not by anymeans down to a science, but mostly guesswork until you feel you've got it right.

You can probably go all balanced this week and be fine Tobias.

It sounds then that considering the speed with which you increase your stats at the lower numbers sunnyboy may be a very viable option.

Need still more money to narrow this down but I would like anybody to confirm that C E A settings are 12, 13, and 12or greater. Aero I was still making improvements raising, but ran out of cash.

I think that the best settings for the England track are, Chassis=12, Engine=13 and Aerodynamics=14. Good luck.

Found a good forum with some tips and info.

http://www.moonworld.co.uk/gtr/forum/

I was not aware that anything carried over from season to season but they say about 90 percent of your engine power does. They all like to get top speed up as quickly as possible and they say track knowledge gives a diminishing return beyond about 65%.

Lots of other helpful info including their belief that pitting twice per race is best. I will be pitting on lap 20 and 40 at England this race.

Interesting! Thanks for the heads up Tobias. I'm going to stick with 1 pit this race on lap 40. Let me know if you see a noticable advantage.

Avian Racing is currently the 900th ranked team in the game with 73pts. We could concievably jump up to 850 or so after this week!

Ran a 01:18,402 for qualifying. Should be top 5 I think given I pooched out my last race. So far 1st of 2. :P

Considering pitting on laps 19 and 40. I'll change to lap 20 if I qualify first.

I am curious as to the strategy. You will be pitting a lap earlier to gain some kind of advantage? How? Just Curious. :)

Pitting a lap earlier means I need less fuel in the car at the start, means a faster start.

This is not looking good. I'm qualified 13th out of 15. I'm running 252 km/h. What are you guys running?

Came in 6th... a little lower than I would have liked, qualified in 4th...

Gotta get my fitness up to 100.... I am becoming exhausted halfway through the races...

Man, I did bad. Placed 13th. Looks like Z did pretty well though. He's up to 37 pts.

Actually looks like EVERYBODY did well except for me.

I would suggest you get your high speed up as far as possible, get your kilter up to about 65 and only use the brave setting. I got 3 wins this week following many of the helpful tips at the moon site I linked in a previous thread(albeit in a first race and 2 second races. They have some guidelines on what driver settings to use based on your skill.

It would appear that Z won his race as I remember he started at 27. Let's post results in thread entitled Racing Manager England Results. The first person to get on here after each race could start the thread using that format.

That helped a good amount.....I'm about to break 1:14, but there are lots of people running faster than me in this group. Best is high 1:11s.

I'll be lucky to finish in the points this time. I appear to be the slowest out here. All the other drivers are pointing at laughing at Mr. Sparkle.
