Cool. I love the idea of doing these kinds of things. Way back in the day, I used to make videos... back before they had all these fancy shmanzy computers to make it easy. I've dreamed of quiting my job and running off to work at Pixar or something and doing more of them.

Yak, your posts reminds me...

Danyale came home the other day telling me she helped a lady get a new account at her credit union, and when Danyale did the lady's credit report it showed that she used to work for LucasFilm.

It was cool being that we don’t get many of those in Louisiana.

I was reading that Louisiana is really trying to cater to the video game development market lately with tax cuts and other such incentives. That made me think of y'all, too. So, take that Danyale!

It is cool that you heard that. A few years back I attended a presentation here at LSU about our states attempts at turning the area between New Orleans and Baton Rouge into a tech friendly area to attract gaming companies and other software companies.

/sarcasm on
I took it as “New Orleans is a dieing dirty hell hole: What can we try to do to help the Louisiana economy?? Oh lets try technology… we can make ‘one million dollars’… and why we are at it lets make games so the kiddies will get interested, that will be fun”.
/sarcasm off

The show was put on by the Computer Science gaming division and to my surprise there were politicians and gaming industry spokespeople. The event was much better than what I was expecting. Despite how well the show was, I took it as a wish and a prayer… who doesn’t want tech in their state? Call me a cynic but I did not think they could pull it off.

Being that Yak has heard something about this, maybe they are making more progress that I thought possible.
