What would you do if you won a million dollars?

I'll go first...

I'd pay off my car, buy a nice house, and maybe a summer house on a lake somewhere not too far from where I live. I don't think it'd be bad to put it into real estate cuz that is more of an investment than a purchase. My parents would love the summer house too :) I'd probably pay the rest of my brother's college. Buy myself new golf clubs. I'd donate some to the Tsunami relief. I'd also play in the World Series of Poker that year (10,000)... it'd be an amazing experience and well worth the money if I had it lying around, and hey, what if I won!!! :) I'd also take a trip to the beach and buy a few of my friends a plane ticket and hotel room to join me.

I'd keep my job so I don't go insane and, well, I think I'd still have to work to avoid blowing through the money too quickly. A million will go a long way, but I'm not so convinced it could set you up for life anymore.

I'd start up a hippy commune - but I'd make sure it had broadband access

Only One? :)

If I had a million dollars I would try to invest it and live off the interest. 8% to 30% returns would provide for a comfortable supplemental income. There is no way I would stop working... one million is not enough for me to do that.

Only problem is I would want to buy so many things that in the end I would not have very much to invest. Too much temptation burning a hole in my pocket. I really want to drop some mad cash on my house... maybe this million would help me get there.... but all that money at once may change my taste. I might need to live with the money for a while before I have what I consider a perfect house built.

Image You would.

I'd invest 900k. I'd sell my house and move into a little bigger one with the rest of the cash.

If had any left, I'd start a hippy-re-education program. :P

Invest it all, and start my own space agency, or perhaps build a spaceport, or fund some space project that would revolutionize space travel.

Um... with a million you can't even pay for a bolt on a satelite.

A million dollars is a problem I don't have, so I won't worry about it until it happens :P

first off I just wanted to verify this is post-tax dollars? assuming so I'd buy an old church in Jacksonville, fit it with a sound system, a few bars and stripper poles and start my own goth strip-club/bar. if there was room I'd include a tattoo shop upstairs and a basement for bondage and fetish shows. even if it lost money it would all be paid for and I'd finally have a place to hang out that had everything I wanted.

LOL!

Yeah that's one thing I didn't clarify, but we'll just assume it's post-tax dollars.

1. Invest half of it.
2. Buy a Shelby Mustang GT350 from 1965 (Yup)
3. Get myself a pilot licence.
4. An education within spacefaring engine development and Blaster weapons (yes I know how to build one, but only need to test it)
5. Get away from this backwater country wich is the point on earth that most far away from the center of the Star Wars fanworld.

Simple....

Wouldn't you want to be in the Premireday for all Star Wars movies.
Wouldn't you want the original Star Wars movie on DVD or VHS were it says Star Wars and not Episode IV?

Also Shelby made sure that the first year of Shelby Mustang has full upgrades, vere the later years had the upgrades as ekstraequipment.
So if I bought the '67 there is a chance that it isn't more than a tuned Ford Mustang.

Always first year editions are special.

BTW If I could afford it I would also buy a '67 but '65 is priority

Invest the money in my own gaming company. Have fun making games I've always wanted to play.

I think I'd get myself a new car (a Honda with a Hybrid engine) and then with the remaining $980,000 I'd invest it all. I want to eventually be able to live off the income that comes directly from my investments.

I've been reading this book, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" that talks all about that kind of stuff.

If you really need a hose, I'm sure you can get one cheaper than $1 mil

I'd move to New York City and use 2/3 of the money as capital for a Doggy Day Care/dog walking service in upper Manhatten. I'd use the rest to live on while I build my Magnum Opus MMORPG that I'd let all of you play for free.

then i would build my dream house from scratch by my self, and a little slave labour from kharlaq
