Gnomeregan....

Need some advice / info on the instances I should be looking into...

Uldaman? Scarlet ?

Are there any other 40'ish folks that want to try and put together some runs?

I feel the game is taking a new turn for me, post 40 and all... and I know nothing about it or the zones I will be hunting...

Anyone have any thoughts / advice?

I wish I had better news for you but I've been to Uldaman and Scarlett both and they were huge disappointments for me. maybe I hit Gnomergan at just the right levels or had just the right mix of players in my groups but it was a blast. Uldaman was just a huge chore and Scarlett was a bore. as far as experience and rewards and fun for yout time I'd suggest bypass them both and just keep on questing =/

Well, thats info at least, hehe...

I had quite a nice 2 hour session of XP'ing in Stranglethorn last night... got 5 drops (green items) and made about 5g... picked up almost half a level at 38... I am the Monkey Killing KING, hehe...

Rocklar, you need to check out the Hammer I picked up last night, you might want it....

Im right behind you man! Let me know when and where and we can grind out together.

Im lvl 37 (almost) so I could use a good XP run. BTW. did you quest in Strangelthorn or just run around killing? Do you find just killing stuff faster XP than quests?

hehe, I will fill you all in on yet ANOTHER prize piece of Intel I have gathered....

First the Yeti cave... now... THE MONKEY GLADE OF DOOM !!!!!!!!

Just of the main road through Stranglethorn, where the road first turns south... there is an area, just over a long bridge (coming from the Nestingway Camp, about 2 bridges from the camp I believe)...

The area has TONS and TONS of 37-38 Gorillas, Jungle Thunderers... they have weak AC... and spawn in a pattern where you can pull singles all day long. The area is also hemmed on one side by the river, where you can hunt Crocs if you like as well, and to the south, there are Tigresses and Shadowmaw panthers.... this area is just north of where King B (big Elite Tiger) resides...

In two hours of non stop monkey slaughter, I got almost half a level of XP at level 38. not to mention piles and piles of leather, and the gorilla loot (hair, teeth, etc.) sells well. There are also some 36-38 ogres across the river, that drop decent loot from time to time to break the monotony..

This is every bit as juicy as the Yeti caves for the the early 30's, and the skinning is fabulous.. thick leathers and heavy leathers... the drops seem to be pretty fair as well... made about 4 g there in around 2 hours last night.

OH, forgot the other part... yes Moge, I have been questing in Stranglethorn as well. Do all the quest from the Hunter's Camp... decent XP for stuff you are already hunting.

For the "Book" quests, you can get the pages pretty quick by camping the Karzen's Camp North of the Hunters Camp, across the river, and East of the Rebel Camp. Also, the Rebel Camp has some decent quests dealing iwth Karzen..

I have a few level 40 Elite quests I need help on as well.

Well as my Mother used to say to me "If you would just stop playing with your Alt all day long you might actually make something of yourself!"

Funny, my mom warned me if I didn't stop playing with my alt, I'd go blind.

If you have the time do the instance, with as many quest that you can get for it, to me it is somewhat a break to do instance but some of them are very long, seems higher you go the bigger and more time you have to put into them. If you don;t like instance then you will hate end game, it is all about doing BRD Ubrd, and other instance for the best gear.

My hope is that enough people will get to level 60 in the next month or two and we can do the high end instance as a group

Classic

I have to agree with zdcshawn on instances; Uldaman and Scarlet Monastery are too much work and it's enough doing them once for some very nice quest rewards. You should really be 40+ before going into any of them though, if you don't have a very good group that is.

Later on (50+) you'll have Zul'Farrak and Maraudon, both of which have some great and interesting places. There's also a cave in Felwood which is the place I've had the most fun lately. It's not an instance but a huge cave with a couple quests and a few bosses and a very nice layout.

You're about to enter the lvl range (42-47) which for me was the biggest chore. It probably was my own fault for going solo most of the time, but I didn't find the usual abundance of quests and had trouble finding places where I enjoyed hunting so I found myself traveling too much just looking for something to do.

I might come with you in Uldaman sometime; I haven't done much quetss in there yet and I need to visit the enchanter trainer soon. Can you believe they stuck him inside the instance in Uldaman? Bastards...

I don't mind instances... I like em.. but I despise pick up groups...

So I was wondering if any OTHER Avians were looking into doing these 40'ish instances...

I don't even know where to get the quests for em.

although I was really disappointed in Ulda and Scarlet if other avians need to go back while I am still in the level range tyo do so I gladly will. I sitll have a few unfinished quests for both that I have been putting off. but if I'm grouped with other avians I know I will enjoy grouping with or that I haven't met yet then I would actually look forward to it. just let me know! tuesdays and wednesdays before 5 pm work best for me.

I didn't mind SM that much, other than having to try 5 times to defeat Mograine. (Tip: don't release if Mograine is almost dead for a second time)

I'm level 42 now and I did find Uldaman kinda boring, maybe it's just because Toby, Shawn and I ran thru it so quickly the first time, or maybe it's just not as much fun as the Deadmines and others.

I got a level 47 quest for the Hinterland (where Aerie Peak is) when i was travelling back to Darnassus, and while I didn't actually see any of the quest mobs, I did see a lot of level 40-42 wolves ready for skinning!! Very easy and good % of Thick leather.

Did anyone ever try the instance dungeon in Desolace? I never went there and don't even know it's name. (is that Mauradon?)

I did Mauradon, it is huge, got killed 3 or 4 times doing it and ended up taking 4+ and we know where we were going. We did the princeness quest she is rather far in, all the other are well are decently close

When I hit 38 I went to SM all the time. Not that it was much fun but at that level there is a ton of cash, items, and money there. Uldaman however I don't enjoy too much. I still go there sometimes for the cash and XP, but for some reason at this level there are lots of 10 year olds that only want to do their quest and roll on anything.

You could goto Scarlet Monastery at level 36, and probably level at least 6 levels or more there.

I will go to both SM and Uld any time. I am setting up SM now and I have a buttload of quests to Uld. So... let's go.

I need to visit Uldaman too, haven't done any quests in there and I have to visit the enchanter trainer.
