This is pretty good for a free game, I have spent loads of money on much worse in the past lol.
You can download it for free  but it is a 700meg file so a fast internet connection is handy.

America's Army, the official U.S. Army game, is an online video game that has registered about 4.7 million users. More than 30,000 people log onto the game's servers every day; thousands more play in unofficial leagues. It claims to present the most authentic military experience available, including individual and collective training.
A little review of the game I liked http://www.technovelgy.com/ct/Science-Fiction-News.asp?NewsNum=334

Anyone one else here play this?

I'm trying to sell the idea of a sequel called America's Air Force to the chief of staff of the Air Force this month as both a recruiting and training tool... we'll see if it gets anywhere.

Is Yak ever NOT serious? I mean come on. He's the Yak. As serious as a heart attack. :P

Mike, can this be played multi-player? I've never tried it out, but I just might. It sounds pretty sweet.

When I went through basic training, my nickname was Jester... I'm not ALWAYS serious. :) Just a little ambitious at times.

Yeah, it's a long shot, but I'm determined to break into the gaming market one way or the other.

Ambitious? You haven't even heard my career goals yet, I tell ya, they're ambitious, this is just small-fry in comparison!

Antan, how many times do I have to tell you that a gigalo is NOT being ambitious.

OK, that was crazy. I sat through the Special Forces class and took the test and actually was stressing about it. :P

I did bad with the training -- except the marksmanship of course. ;)

I must have jumped out of that dang plane 10 times before I could land in the circle without breaking my legs.

I gave up on the one where you gotta sneak around to the checkpoints. That's frustrating. Anyway, for whatever reason, I can't actually play the multiplayer stuff. It connects to the server and then boots me back out and says I need more training. I don't want more training. I want to blow stuff up.

LOL! I completed all the training :D the sneak around the check points took me a while to do. I can't play it at the moment I think my ram is on the way out started getting mem errors, once it's sorted I,ll be back on it.
What was your score on the marksmanship test, did you get the sniper training, I got 38 out of the 40 targets.

I've got the real-life Sharpshooter (pistol) medal, and the German grenade-launcher certification. :)

When my unit went on the German ranges for qualifications, you traditionally stop by the drink-tent before hand and have a few shots of vodka. Does wonders for your nerves!

After a few rounds with some crazy-ass (and big!) weapons, I tried the dual-submachine guns (one in each hand, walking towards the target and continually firing). Out of 80 bullets, I hit the target twice! The recoil on those puppies is insane, and you can't hit shite while walking. Really made me realize that hollywood is full of it.

Same here, though I tried to do a jumping kick from 20 feet away. For some reason I came down after about 5-6 feet and landed on my back real hard :P

Hey I get one kill every third round. Don't feel bad.

I'm better at the m-16 and m-4.

Send a PM when you're going to play. Remeber to say which server.

I'll try and see if I can get in. Have to remember my time is GMT +1.

Linking up via a voice chat program makes for a fun time playing this game, I may reinstal it once I have sorted my PC out.

Haven't seen you in a long time.

If you had a link for the program all I need is a mike.

Makes me remeber playing at the net-café when we played CS against the other local net-café.
Going through verbal communication is the best way of coordinating. We could use it at Jump to Lightspeed.
