Matrix Online has now gone live. Anyone ever play in the beta? The combat system in place and hype about real-life people taking over the role of key chars and staging live events quite regularly sounds quite interesting.

Evergamer (Alarac) played beta, and now has the live game. He was telling me that they launched way too early, at the same level of "too early" that SWG launched.

They have done some really, really cool things in it, though. The ability to chat in AIM from in-game is amazingly useful and cool. And you can go to newspaper stands and get a newspaper, and from the newspaper you can browse the web, from in-game. Stuff like that is very neat, and I'm wondering why this kind of stuff wasn't ever done for SWG. Even the AIM chat in-game would be very useful in any game, and not interrupt or detract from the immersion at all.

yea ive been in beta since october. pre-ordered it last august. got into the pre-release this past saturday. i posted a lot of info on it here: http://avian-gamers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14085&highlight=

it was released extremely early. they have some cool new stuff in game. like they have built an in-game media player that plays all sound files and any streaming audio.

Im on the Proxy Server. Im a co-leader of a faction called Virtue. My ship is the Veritas. Myself and about 5 others set up the faction, and pretty soon here ill be running the site for it. We are at about 30 members right now so it is going well.

but yea, it isnt finished. im disappointed immensely. but oh well, im mainly in it for the story line. it helps with the cravings.

if anyone wants to know anything else about it just gimme a hollar and ill tell you all aout it.

i have an assload of screenshots. the devs threw the most amazing end of beta party/rave/psycho-ness ive ever seen.
