So, speaking of computers...I'm kind of torn between upgrading my existing comp or buying a new one (i won't build completely from scratch because i'm lazy). However, given that most of what I need to upgrade puts me 70% there...anyways. It looks like i could upgrade my mobo, power supply (need to something about the new mobo's require 24 pin power supplies and the older ones were 20 pin or something), and cpu for $1100 (K8N Deluxe mobo, FX-55 CPU)...i can't go PCI-E because my new vid card is AGP. Rather than spend big bucks for a new comp now...putting off getting the 2nd comp for another year or so.
Anyone having similar thoughts? Or, know of advances coming that I should wait for such as an intel based SLi configuration coming out, etc?
I am not sure. When I buy a PC they tend to cost me at least $3,000. Not many of us have that much lying around the house... so I usually have to upgrade RAM or Graphics card based on the problems I am having.
Danyale was having choppy game play in WoW cities, and her viewing distance was turned down low so she was missing a lot of the great scenery. Last week I bought her 512MB RAM and now she has almost no choppy play in cities, and her viewing distance is set to the max so that she can see everything. Her game is absolutely beautiful now. I think it cost me under $100.
I don’t know of any advances coming soon, so I don’t know what you need to do. Me, I buy new when basic upgrades are no longer helpful.
