I bought my tickets today, what about you guys?

D would not take off work so I had to get the May 19, 7PM feature. They are playing it at 12:01AM... If D was the coolest wife she would take off May 19 so we can catch the show then sleep all day.

They won't start selling tickets here until like a week prior to, and we can't order them online. Damn Wyoming rinky-dink theaters anyway. I've got an unemployed friend who can make sure we get some tickets, though.

My local is booking tickets. Tempted to get one for the midnight screening but I'm not sure. Will probably decide and buy some time next week.

Also don't really fancy sharing the theatre with a bunch of Stormtroopers/Vaders/Jedi etc.

All the Major Theaters in So Cal started selling tickets earlier this week.

They were sold out of the Midnight (12:01 AM) showing the following day.

I've been surfing all the major Theater websites daily hoping they open up more screens for sale. So far no luck.

True, the geek factor would be very high but you couldn't ask for a much more rapt (and therefore quiet) audience to share the show with... :)

That's not how I hear it was in my city for the opening of Ep I at the midnight show, Bunch of the geeks were wooting and hollering the whole show and ruined it for other viewers. Thankfully I take the noon show everytime and had no probs so far.

I plan on taking a personal day off that day.

I was saying to someone else the other day, I can tell I'm starting to get old (in a relative sense, you understand!) when I start to view teenagers as annoying!

The worst bit is that the kids generally just spend the time having popcorn fights or using mobile phones or just generally chatting. You'd have thought with the price paid for tickets and popcorn these days they'd actually want to watch the movie!

Exactly. I almost only go to opening Day movies now. I started doing it when the Star Wars special edition came out, and now opening day movies represents 80% of the time if I go to the theater. In my experience there is no better behaved crowd than on opening day. If someone makes too much noise the fans carry you out of the theater, and the cinema will probably rewind the movie so the vigilantes won’t miss a second. j/k I have never witnessed one sole acting up while an opening day movie is playing.

There is nothing like people singing the anthem, cheering at the Lucas Film Logo, cheering at the "In a galaxy Far Far away” text, yet deathly silent seconds later when the opening scene starts. I don’t dress up, but it is cool as hell seeing storm troopers holding up signs saying turn your cell phones off.

If Steve doesn't have a job by then, and no one expects him to, Willford is going to go make him wait in line for everyone.

Dude, I ain't so lucky up here.
Though the other day I was going in for a movie (can't remember wich one) were the ep. III trailer was on I caught myself standing up. Luckily I usually sit on the last row so noone's behind me. But the odd thing is that people just felt silent and some talked about what that fucking trailer was about.

I've been thinking about going on Opening day... but it's my wife's Birthday.

I guess that's when you realize you're old. When Happiness of Wife beats out Star Wars. :|

Me and some friends have decided to go to the midnight screening (it's actually at 00:31). We've finished exams by then so we figured "hell, why not"! Buying the tickets tomorrow.
