I tried to load up WoW today and while dloading the 138MB patch I crashed 5 times (and Im only 60mb into the Dload).

These crashes where a big reason I left WoW in the first place. My Netwrok card is FA311. Anyone else use this card?
I tried Dloading the updated drivers but when selecting the OS there is no XP option only ME and below.

I just tempted to go buy a new card for 20 bucks and see if this fixes my issues.

I kinda want to tool around WoW some but these crashes have plagued me from day 1.

well after some more digging and a trip to Best Buy I found that the newest Card from NetGear is the GA311 and I had the FA311. The FA was infact made in the days of ME so it is old. The GA is made for XP.

I went ahead and picked up the new card (actually I got a Linksys) and so far so good. Im sure in the end it was infact a driver issue but with the card already out of date it was just easier to get a newer card and start free.

So far Im crash free :)

Most likely the problem is that it is "associated" with ME, no, not THAT ME, the OS... It's like the association to ME is worse than the "dated" card.

lol yeah imagine that. It actually wasn't the games fault. Old (blame) habits die hard I guess.

We all know the stories of people blaming the game.

For the most part it isn't the game, but the player self.

But with SOE....

I would crash whenever I completed a mission. More of a lockup than a crash.
I did not lockup once lastnight after completing several quests.
