I imagine a woodchuck would chuck as much wood as it could chuck (or felt like chucking at the time. Appetites vary during the day). :P

If a woodchuck would chuck, could chuck wood, than woodchuck would chuck so much wood.

But "would" can change depending on the woodchuck, some may like to chuck more than others, thats why I was asking what was the full capacity of wood that could be chucked by a woodchuck.

Ok I'm starting to get lost now.

Actually, the saying is:

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

The key to this statement is the fact that a woodchuck can't "chuck" wood. It's a tongue twister that is also a play on an innacurately named animal.

Well to be named a woodchuck it would have to be able to chuck alot of wood to earn its name. Seeing as the Beaver can chuck alot of wood and it is not specifical a "woodchuck" then the woodchuck must be able to chuck at least more wood than a beaver. :D
