The speculation is just that.. people freaking out...

They will track the duped items, delete them, and delete the accounts of those participating...

I doubt we will see any rollbacks...

I propose any Avians caught doing this be stripped of membership immediately.

from my personal experience they may not be able to delete or track items once traded.
They can remove them from the AH but a simple trade 'may' be enough to get away with it.

I have no doubt that Bliz will do what it can to fix this asap.

That might depend on whether it is a "dupe" or just a drop from a broken loot table. I would expect in the former case, if each item has a unique id (for tracking purposes) than any dupes would have that same unique id and thus be easier to track, while in the latter case, each dropped item would have its own unique id and it would be more difficult to tell how it was obtained.

*shrug*

Vene if this were a dupe there will be no huge rollbacks. Rollbacks are bad publicity and anger many players.

Basically all a bunch of hogwash...

WoW announced on the Euro boards they found NO evidence of duping...

And the Dalaran AH is operating as usual, no crazy price fluctuations or item overload...

I think it was a rumor that got flamed by the Forum Trolls. Thats it.

On a related note, I looked at the forums linked in the slashdot article, and after 20 minutes of browsing I was really depressed. I'm amazed at what some people find fun. One person, who was developing some duping hack, said he/she didn't care about getting money, they just wanted to make the economy tank. Good times...
