Do you guys know anything about the following companies? Have you dealt with them in the past, or have relatives who have worked for them?

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.
Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR)
The Shaw Group Inc.
Turner Industries Group, LLC
MAPP Construction, LLC
Zachry Construction Corporation

All of them are pursuing me, but I am most interested in the first two. While the offers are being made, I am trying to discover what working conditions will be like for each company. This is not easy info to dig up. I am visiting each company, but they put their best face forward. It would be very helpful if you guys had any inside info. Also for our Europeans, I would like to know what their global reputation is like.

Not that I could really tell you anything useful about them, but I worked on a number of Jacobs jobs here (I worked for Fire Protection sub-contractors). They were mainly pharmaceutical plants if I remember right, the likes of Pfizer, but there were other standard building projects.

Along with PM, they were one of the largest groups we dealt with.

I know a few people who have worked on placements for KBR over here. I'll have a chat with a few of them and see what I can find out.

Shaw just bought a big plant here in Columbia. Honeywell used to own it. That's all I know.

I have done business with MAPP and Zachary Const. over the years.

Can't say all that much about them... other than they are major players in the commercial construction market.

Don't have any specifics... as I think its been a while since our last project with either of them.
