You will no longer be able to pvp while immunity is cast. If you have immunity cast and attack another player, immunity will no longer be in effect. Attacking creatures on the training beach is unaffected.

This may very well leave some targets available later in the day although it remains unclear at this point how much of an effect it will have.

Well it was a free-for-all last night at reset and I got killed 4 times but I did get my 49 kills in. Today my blacklist was mostly free of the living, so it seems this won't help too much if you can't get on at reset and will mostly just affect those who do get on at that time.

Yeah, unless I jump on real early, I'm only seeing a few people on to PvP. Seems like a bit of a game flaw... it would work better if you were randomly rezzed once during the day, rather than at server reset.

How about if you could choose the time of your reset?

I think it would be nice not to be rezzed after the town wars....that 2 hits a day makes it tough to level up the small folk.

The PvP is a definite weakness in the game (in the sense that it is time based).

Did you see Gui got a mana reload today. Lucky Bastard! :D

To put it in perspective I am 86 days old and I have gotten one. I vote every day too.

I can't seem to PvP anymore (starting at 6:30am EST).

That doesn't bode well for the future of this game for me. I think it's starting to show it's limitations and too many of thesedays can quickly spell the end (even for a free game).

I actually got one from fighting on the beach today... is that unusual?

Yes. But more common I believe the tougher the creatures.

As I've said in the past, PvP becomes tougher the further you go. After level 10 players are dropped fromt the game faster for inactivity than before it. So when your min level hits 10 you have a problem. If you are trying to fight at night though you are never going to have an easy time. Fortunately PvP also becomes less important the further you go for a couple of reasons.

1. If you keep buying your regular mana and level quickly every two to three days, your regular mana becomes a greater and greater percentage of your overall mana.

2. You generally earn a higher exp point return on training beach kills vs PvP kills. This is because you can take out higher level creatures on the beach vs fighting humans. It's also why you never use regular mana to pvp after PvP mana is maxed out.

I really needed that too. I died 3 times in a row just before I did all of my voting. I'm a level two and the other level two's were kicking my ass.

Should I just fight level ones if I am only a level two?

You get more xps for fighting higer levels, but it's more important to win.

Find your ID # (probably 155000 - 160000) and make sure you target people with a similar or higher id number (better if it's higher as they have less time to bump up their stats).

Make sure to join a town and make use of their armory to keep yourself armed with the best weapon/armor possible.

First I spend all my mana in the temple. After that, I've been doing pvp battles all up until yesterday. It gets harder and harder to find people to fight unless you can get on at 3am.

So, today I started spending al my mana exploring the dungeon. It's interesting. I'd like a little more variation, but it's fun. It's 200x200 squares, so is huge. Once you get out around the +/-80s, the monsters start getting tougher. They're all the same mobs as on the sands, and so you get the same xp as if you were fighting there... as well as random healing potions and teleport scrolls and found metals and gems.

I spend about 40 mana on the dungeon, then 30 in the temple. Also, I've started spending my $$ on just buying bread. This way, I can still go up about 4-5 strength each turn (just like spending all of my mana there), but have more fun in the dungeon.

But, don't go 10 minutes without moving in the dungeon, as you'll lose your session details, and you'll be moved out of the dungeon, where you'll be attacked and killed.

MGJ, if your pvp attack level is 2, then try to only attack level 2s. It's not your 'normal level' (the one that's on the top left of your display), rather the one that you see when searching for opponents.

Yes.

Ideally you would make a blacklist with everyone that has significantly lower ML rating than you on it but that is many names when you start out and very time consuming to do. I have heard so many theories about how you should start out in this game my head is spinning. This is the best I've heard so far.

Level absolutely as fast as possible to level three, then start PvPing with half your regular mana every day and pray the other half. This boosts your PvP mana quickly. Once PvP mana is maxed level every three days by pvping then fighting on the training beach. Pray the rest of your stats keeping spd above your encumbrance. This prevents the encumbrance penalty. When spd hits about 60 quit praying spd and pray only str. This will keep spd below about 100 when you are nearing the first praying cap and allow you to get an apoc before the cap. Keep your int just above 1.5 times the level of creatures you are fighting on the training beach so you can outcrit them and no more.

I've said different in the past but don't buy bread. While you are dead and when you have enough money, buy metals. Combined with your metal finding skill and cheap store bought metals, you should have enough money to make sure you can get to 200 metals. This is much easier with metal finding maxed of course, because that gives 150 on it's own. When you have 200 metals buy a magic point. Sell any excess metals so they don't get stolen by people with pets. If you don't have enough money to get your total to 200 metals don't bother, but don't keep excess metal in your inventory. Just sell it and buy it back later.

I don't bother with the dungeon because it is not efficient use of mana. I can train better on the training beach. I will go in the dungeon someday, just not now.

Oh, and I realize the rule change in the heading for this thread really has caused little change. :(

Why buy a magic point instead of buying fish to raise your int? Because you want to keep your pvp level as low as possible?

A while back I suggested to my town that I was thinking of rerolling my character because with all I learned I could have a higher MLAR and be stronger for my age, etc. I was soundly dissuaded of the notion because they said all I would be gaining was a slightly higher MLAR and a better looking character. My age didn't matter they said it was what the character could do.

That said, buying food only gets you to the praying cap faster, in effect younger. There is no need to buy food until you hit the cap, I am convinced now. You are limited in the magic points you can buy per day so start buying them now. You use them to make magic food and cast beneficial spells later on. You want as many as you can lay hands on and there is no way to rush them later. My town suggests not getting Magic Food Maker until you can spend at least 200 MP to do it. The mechanics are such that the results are better the higher your min MP's. You also shouldn't boost your int and spd until after you are wearing full astral armor, 1235 STR, I believe is the total. You should have lower than 100 (yes I know, mine is too high) spd and 1.5 X {training beach creature lvl} when you hit the first cap. That should get you close to an apoc before praying becomes less effective.

Damn, Gui got killed before I had a chance to take him out.

I was fighting in the Sands today when I found a Mana reload potion! Pretty sweet.

I haven't been able to get online at 3:30 for the past month, so I can't take advantage of that extra few thousand XP from PVPing.... though I've found that if I log in mid-day to evening, and just sit and watch players come on by refreshing continuously, I can usually get in about 10 PvP kills before I'm taken down.

I always try to save my last mana point to be killed by a high level Mob on the sands, that way I don't lose the .2 pvp points when some player kills me.

You don't lose PvP mana if you have 1+ mana points?
That could have saved me a bunch of mana loses if it's true

BTW, how do people know how many stats you have? is that through investigate?

I have to say as a lower player in the game, it's frustrating that the higher levels get to gank you so much. I was trying to get some PvP in one day (when I saw a full list) and this guy kept having his pet kill me (4 times and took 30 metals each time).

The other "big problem" I see. Several tiems, I went in to get some PvP and I've been involved in a town war. Might be helpful if there was an obivous indicator so you don't try to rez.

Based on the above, I hardly see a reason to continue with the game? I'm giving my mentor a chance to help pull me through. At this point, most, it sounds like we need to level quickly more than praying for stats?

He is saying that he suicides on a high level crit, so that his death is not at the hands of a person who would lower his pvp mana.

Also if you can, try being on around 7- 8 am. After wars conclude is often a ripe time for pvping. Last week a guild sandbagged us in a war then killed everyone in pvp after the war was over. They put forth one legion with 7 guys in it. Since they knew in advance the war would be short, alot of people in their guild logged on around the time the wars usually start. The war was over in 6 rounds and about 2 mins. Virtually everyone in our town was still alive. We all got killed in pvp after by the scavengers. LoC sucks.

One morning I couldn't get on at reset but found 33 people to kill after a war concluded. It was just luck being on at the right time.

People could investigate you to get your stats but they most likely just check your ML List sum it all stats. You will beat someone with 90% percent of your stats about 90% percent of the time. It is found in the town hall then ML List. I explained it's use more thoroughly in the other thread.

My townies have me levelling every other day now. I am making fantastic progress. Level every other day if you can do it.

I'm up to level 14 now. I just made my 100% at Gem finding, so I'm picking up 180 gems/day before fighting. Nice stuff. By putting gems on the market, it takes up to a day to sell them at 420ish, but then I can buy 200 metals at 300 and make 12k profit. So I've got a comfy 200k in gold.

Got my magic up to about 40, and hovering around 130 Str/Speed, but only 20 in intelligence.

Should I start raising the intelligence? Or, keep building strength and then speed to do best on my damage? I always try to keep at least 90% damage rating by raising my speed just enough for what equipment I'm carrying.

Or, should I just level to 15 then max out on the stats for a number of days to take the most out of the 85 points?

It's nice being this high - I usually survive until the 15-20th round of town wars. Too bad there's no XP bonus gained from those.

Level every other day and when you have any extra mana at all pray strength.

I'm level 16. I find PvP mana useless now, I never see more than a couple people to fight (or there is a town war).

Gem finding at 100% too now, but I haven't done the swap for 200 metals since I rarely see enough on the market.

My Str is about 155 now, and speed is almost 100. Int is 21 I think with a few extra points in there for MP also.

I guess I'll keep going on like this until 20, then reassess.

My pvp mana on average saves about 25 regular mana I would have to use leveling. I have 140 total so it is getting to be a smaller and smaller fraction. We have people in The Guardians who don't pvp at all or do so very little. We for the time being have the misfortune to live in the time zone that has reset at 3 am. Perhaps we should post in the suggestion thread to change it.

At least a rotating reset, or something like that. Then maybe some other people might get some use from PvP mana.

Look under the christmas tree (in the city).
you have to click it 3 times, but you'll get increases to all 3 stats. mine went from 8 to 13

Odd. I needed click it only once and got 30 total stat increases as did everyone who listed there gains in The Guardians. A second try only yielded a message about Santa never giving out gifts twice.

Same here. Hit Level 20 the other day. Wondering what to do next other than what I've been doing since I got here.

Really the game is kind of boring right now but I like the unlimited character development and the low amount of time required so I will be sticking with for the forseeable future. I want to eventually learn magic food making and forging and do the dungeon.

I feel the same way.

At this point I'm using all my mana to go to the training grounds (hence my stats are very low). I'm starting to horde metals and should reach 100 skill pretty soon.

We'll see, but for 10 minutes a day, it shouldn't be too bad.

Remember the most important things to do to start the game are get gem finding and use it daily. Pray strength till you get up to about 10-15. See the Christmas tree before it goes away then pvp your ass off up to 50 points with all your mana. After that level every other day till it is not possible then pray for a while till it is.

you forget the why! Why not levelevery day?
And everyone else says to get metal finding to 100%. it's too late for me to go back now. i'll just have an arsenal of metal for when it is needed.

And unless you use an automated tool, you will never PvP.

Ok the why. You spend a hundred gems at the tall tree of mana and you gain one extra mana. Your max mana rises by three each level. You gain one mana for leveling and buy a mana each day. So if you level quicker than every other day you can't keep your mana up to your max. Mana is the most important stat in the game.

Until your minimum pvp level is above about 10, You should be able to PvP anytime prior to the completetion of wars. Even after there will be some targets left.

If you have metal maxed or are close then don't change to gems. Sell the metal to buy gems for the tall tree of mana. When you have enough money to buy your gems and 200 metal AND you're dead (so no one with a creature can steal the metal) buy the metal and then use it to buy a page from merlins journal which will permanently increase your magic points by one.

I must be an automated tool cause I pvp every night. :D I know married guys can't do this, but I will even set the alarm to get up and do it. Remember that the key to pvp is picking weak opponents based on comparison of your ML sum it all totals, then destroying them in groups without stopping to let the page reload. This way you can kill 50 people in no more than 6-8 mins. I made a blacklist of everyone with less than 2/3 of my sum it all total. I ordered it according to level with the highest levels (they give the most exp) at the top then saved it as favorite user link. I attack 12 people then heal then 14 then heal then 16 and heal... etc until I have killed 50. You don't get a kill for each try of course because sometimes they are dead already or occasionally if you aren't careful or are unlucky you die.

I've been on at least a dozen times over the last three days although it might have been down a few hours a couple of days ago.

It is working fine now.

Starting tomorrow people won't be revived at reset. The revive will happen on their first login, automatically.

Let's see how it goes.

Have fun

Yeah... I'm up to lvl 24 now... it's a good timekiller at work. My only problem is that I really don't like my town. All they do is yell at everyone to recruit more people...
