Since launch I have had massive client side lag. I am running an XP 1.7Ghz Celeron with 386 DDR and a Radeon 7000. Not the best system.

I knew that most of the issues where on my side and after reading a dev post of city lag optimization I went out and got a 512 Ram upgrade.

My MoBo only has 2 dimms DOH so I have a 512 and 256.

the difference is amazing!!!!!

If you have major city lag try adding more ram. Im telling you going into cities is no longer a dread.

Now just to work on that processor and Vid card...

I have 512.. but either one or both of my chips are fried (I'm praying it's ujst the RAM) - so I'm going to end up with 256 at best until I can get another chip - which is what I have been running SWG on for the past few weeks - Do not do that! - go out and get your lazy butt some RAM - at least 512! Running on 256, I've avoided traveling by shuttle or ship, and going into any big city save for Keren's Starport - and that's not much fun.

I picked up some 512 DDR 333Mhz for like 60 bucks today. Seems prices are back down.
I have a 64 and a 128 DDR 333Mhz I am not using if anyone wants to Avi-Bay it

I am running a Geoforce 4 Ti 4600 128 meg card and 2 gigs of DDR 400 ram and am still getting nearly a full 2 seconds lag in Kerene at peak usage times. Sometimes the card and and all the ram in the world just won't help LOL.

I'm running a 2.7 GHz, Radeon 9700 Pro, 512MB 3200 RAM and I still get some awful lag and stuttering. It's a lot on the end of SOE.

Yeah a lot - if not most - of the delay type lag is Server side not client side.

What I saw was a vast improvment in studdering and texture loads - all client side. We can do nothing about the really annoying delays and time/action lags.

Tatooine has been just horrible the last 3-4 days. I have had up to a 30 second lag in not peak, weekdays! I just avoid Tatooine right now...which sures becuase there is uber water there right now.
